In a brief but pointed message released on Tuesday, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude toward Trump for his administration’s policies, which it described as beneficial to Beijing’s strategic interests. Foreign policy analysts suggest that China’s acknowledgment of Trump’s policies may reflect a strategic calculus rather than genuine approval of Trump as a leader.
